Zinc contributes to a normal acid-base metabolism
A common ailment that receives little attention is an imbalance in the acid-base balance. Again, this is a problem that can be avoided in most cases. Unfortunately, this balance is all too often disturbed by the way we eat and our way of life.
A balanced acid-base balance is important for well-being.
A disturbance in the acid-base balance must not be confused with heartburn, which plagues many. There is a connection, but the acid-base balance is a broader phenomenon. In every area of our body there is ideally a certain pH value with mostly narrow tolerances. In the blood, for example, it is slightly basic and lies between 7.3 and 7.4. If it is only slightly below this, there is acidosis or over-acidification and if it exceeds the limit value, one speaks of alkalosis or under-acidification. This often happens in the short term, for example during great physical exertion. However, if the values are permanently outside the limit ranges, this can become a risk factor.
Unfavorable nutrition and stress can lead to acidification.
Proteins of animal origin, foods and beverages with a high sugar content and many additives in foods can all promote acidification. This also applies to white flour products and, to a much lesser extent, to wholemeal baked goods. In addition, luxury foods such as coffee, tobacco products and alcohol as well as hectic rush, worries and other side effects of modern life have an acidic effect. In particular, a lot of fresh fruit, vegetables but also herbal teas can do the acid-base balance good. This is because, among other things, they contain precisely those minerals that can bind acids and thus move the pH value towards the base.
Selected herbs and zinc
It is recognized that zinc contributes to a normal acid-base balance. The PlantaVis herb base mix capsules therefore contain 10 milligrams of zinc in a daily dose of two capsules, this corresponds to the recommended daily intake according to RM. There are also 20 proven herbal and other plant extracts and powders. The composition is rounded off by the PlantaVis cell protection complex, which contains other plant substances and an addition of vitamin C.

1 vitamin C helps protect cells from oxidative stress
Below is an excerpt from the ingredients with explanations:
Camu: Camu extract with 20% L-ascorbic acid. The Camu Camu shrub grows in the western Amazon. Its fruits contain up to 40 times more vitamin C than oranges. We now know that phytochemicals can increase the antioxidant, cell-protecting effects of vitamin C in the body many times over, which is why vitamin C from natural sources is more beneficial. As a responsible, nature-loving company, PlantaVis uses Camu Camu from plantations and not from wild collections.
Jiaogulan extract: Jiaogulan, in Chinese Xiancao, in German immortality, is drunk as a tea in China. As with numerous other tea herbs, it is above all the secondary plant substances in this tea that have a variety of health-promoting properties for the human organism. The high content of ginsenosides, a group of substances that we already know from ginseng, is striking. Ginseng used to be eaten as a vegetable because of its invigorating properties.
Melon extract: The melon extract is rich in superoxide dismutases, a group of enzymes that help convert the highly reactive superoxide radical into hydrogen peroxide. Superoxide radicals can arise to a greater extent in various diseases. They damage proteins and genes in the body and are therefore among the causes of oxidative stress.
Capers extract: In addition to flavonoid glycosides and rutin, capers contain a mustard oil glycoside after prior, brief wilting and subsequent soaking in vinegar. Although numerous Mediterranean herbs are among our European medicinal herbs today, capers are only important in our kitchen. In folk medicine, however, they were known, among other things, as a recommendation for chronic inflammatory diseases.
Shiitake: Who doesn't know this slightly leathery, fluffy mushroom in Chinese food. While we are primarily interested in the taste of our dishes, the Chinese have been keeping it for millennia, just like Hippocrates in ancient times, and use foods specifically against health disorders. So it's no wonder that this fungus can also be found in the Chinese pharmacopoeia for various ailments.
Other components of the cell protection complex are cordycep powder, astragaloside extract (1%), barley extract with 20-25% ß-glucan, chlorophyllin, black pepper extract and L-ascorbic acid.
