BeautyLion started in Lausanne in 2017, between friends who worked in beauty, science and wellness and kept noticing the same thing: some of the finest skincare in the world was being made a short drive away, and almost none of it could be bought outside Switzerland.
Swiss brands are quiet by nature. Many sell only through pharmacies, dermatology practices and clinics, and have no interest in mass retail. That reticence is part of what makes them worth finding — and exactly why they are so hard to find.
We opened a boutique in Lausanne, then took the same selection online. Everything still ships from here.
Switzerland's reputation in this field is not a marketing story. It rests on three things: manufacturing to pharmaceutical standards, often in the same cleanrooms that produce medicines; laboratories that treat cosmetics as applied science rather than fashion; and some of the strictest ingredient and safety regulation anywhere.
The result is a category of products — pharmaceutical-grade cosmetics, trusted by dermatologists, largely invisible outside professional circles. That is the shelf we buy from.
We are a small team in Lausanne — people who know the products, visit the laboratories, and answer the emails. If you write to us, someone here reads it.

Every brand we carry is bought directly from the Swiss laboratory or its authorised distributor — never parallel imports, never repackaged goods, never a grey channel. Beyond provenance, four things decide whether a product is listed:
